Maybe you’re changing career paths, and you want to have an adventure before you buckle down and start your next job. Or maybe, you’ve arrived in a new city and are looking for accommodation alternatives...
FULLTIME Living Costs
In my research of other traveller`s experience..
One Year Costs
*Travel Eg - 11,000- 12,000 miles per year
*Fuel cost Eg - $3000 - $5000 per year
*RV Park cost Eg- $2000 per month or $24,000 per year. You will able to pay less when you pay for the entire month.
(Boondocking will allow you to pay less - free!)
Buying a used RV and putting down a downpayment
An example of an RV payment could be approx $500 per month
RV financing is easier than ever with flexible payment plans. Loan terms for both new and used RV’s can now extend up to 20 years. The minimum down payment for an RV is typically between 10% and 20%, but some finance companies also offer “No-Money-Down” loan program options to qualified applicants.
COSTS
Propane
*Roughly $20- $30 per month on propane and sometimes up to $200 + per month
Laundry
*This could be $60 per month depending on where you go
Food costs -
*Grocery could be approx $15,000 per year
*Eating out - $9000 per year
*Internet - $150 + per month
*Cellphones - $200 + per month
*Health insurance $700 + per month
Plus roughly $1000 per month in maintenance and RV insurance approx. $270 + a month.
These costs can be slightly different for other traveller's.
RV Rental Costs
WHAT DOES IT COST FOR RV RENTALS?
RV rental costs depend on what type of RV you want to rent, and the overall size you require or need for your sleeping accommodations. Typical RV rentals include Motorhomes, while you can also rent Travel Trailers if you have the proper vehicle to tow with.
MOTORHOME RENTALS
The average 25-foot class C motorhome will cost about $1500-$2000/week. They usually come fully equipped with kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, cups, cooking pots, towels, and bedding. Camper rentals (Class B motorhomes) will generally cost a bit less, roughly $1200-1600/week even though they can be suitable for 2 people or solo travelers. There are no costs for vehicle maintenance, but insurance may be extra or included in the price. However, there may be additional charges for amenities, travel to the Far North, extra mileage, or a winterizing fee for wintertime RVing.
TRAVEL TRAILER RENTALS
Travel Trailers will typically cost about $95-175/night or $600-900/week. Depending on features and the season, and you may need to rent a pickup truck for your travels. Your RV Dealer will be able to advise you on the proper vehicle for towing.
Park Model Rentals
Prices can range depending on the season but can start from as little as $150/night for a cabin that can sleep up to 8.

You may be wondering, “Can you lease an RV like a car?” Unfortunately, the answer is no. Unlike a car lease, which is typically for at least a year, a RV rental agreement is usually arranged by the week or by the month.
